Happy International Coffee Day

Coffee is a brewed drink made from roasted coffee beans which are native seeds in tropical Africa, Madagascar, ect,. The plant was exported then and nowadays, it is grown in more than 70 countries around the world. Coffee drink is loved mostly because of its flavor and caffeine content. Coffee drink can help to relieve or prevent drowsiness and to improve performance.

Nowadays, coffee has become one of the most popular drinks in the world. You can have coffee in many ways such as espresso (thick brewed coffee made from ground roasted coffee beans and small amount of boiling water), cappuccino (Italian coffee drink which is combination of double espresso, hot milk and steamed milk foam) or latte (coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk). You also can have coffee with ice to cool down and awake your body or hot rich coffee to warm up your day. And you can have a cup of coffee anytime, anywhere you feel you want to because of the huge amount of coffee shops that are eager to serve your demand. However, homemade coffee drink is just as wonderful as the one you purchase at coffee shops if you know how to make it and it is super easy, too!

It is undeniable that coffee has become a part of our daily life. Coffee is resolution for everything. Coffee can be your hero at the very beginning of the day. Coffee is a wake-up call we need every morning. Since coffee is so important just like that, it is totally normal to have a day to celebrate and express our love toward such magical drink. International Coffee Day is on the first day of October. So, in order to celebrate the day, we would like to introduce some wonderful coffee recipes that can help you start your day in the best way.

You will need a coffee maker or roasted coffee beans or ground coffee to make coffee brew ahead as one of main ingredient (of-course)! Some ingredients like caramel can be purchased at store or you can make them at home.

Caramel Brulee Coffee

Caramel brulee coffee

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Milk
  • ¼ cup of Caramel Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups (16 ounces) of Hot coffee
  • Whipped Cream

Making:

Step 1: You will need a small saucepan or pot. Add 1 cup of milk, ¼ cup of caramel sauce and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar. Stir and heat all ingredients over medium heat for about 4 to 5 minutes or until the mixture gets foamy and steaming. You should whisk frequently during the process.

Step 2: Divide coffee into 2 large mugs. Then divide milk mixture into 2 mugs and stir coffee and milk until they are combined. Top each mug with whipped cream and some caramel sauce.

With this recipe, you don’t have to go to coffee shop anymore. This drink tastes just as good as those you buy at coffee shop, or even more. The recipe is so easy to do but the result is fantastic. The drink is served hot so enjoying it in winter chilling day is ideal.

Chocolate Almond Milk with Creamy Malted Coffee Ice Cubes

Chocolate almond milk with coffee ice cubes

Ingredients (prep will take about 15 minutes)

For Chocolate Almond Milk: You should soak your almond a night before making day.

  • 1 ½ cups of raw Almond
  • 4 cups of Water (for soaking the almond)
  • 4 cups of Water
  • 4-6 Dates (depend on your sweetness preference)
  • 1/3 cup of Unsweetened Cacao Powder (you can also use cocoa powder)
  • 1 Vanilla Bean (removed seeds) or 1 tablespoon of Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt

Creamy Coffee Ice Cubes

  • 1 cup of Coconut Milk
  • 3 tablespoons of Malted Milk Powder (optional – you can omit if you are vegetarian)
  • 1 tablespoon of Vanilla
  • 1 cup of Strong Black Coffee

Making:

Step 1 – make almond milk: Add 1 ½ cup of raw almond and 4 cups of water into a large bowl and soak them overnight. You can let your almond sit in a pinch for at least 1 hour to save making time.

When the almond is soaked, drain and rinse the nuts well under cold water. After that, add almonds into a high powered blender or food processor. Add 4 cups of water with 4 to 6 dates in the blender. Puree with high mode until almonds are well ground which will take about 2 minutes.

You will need a clean thin cloth kitchen towel, a nut milk bag or double layer of cheese cloth to separate the almond liquid from the mixture. Pour almond mixture onto the cloth and gently squeeze the cloth to release the milk into a bowl or cup. Squeeze until all the milk is drained from the almond mixture which will take about 3 or 5 minutes.

Clean your blender. You can pour some water in it, let the blender runs for a few round and rinse the container under water. Make sure your blender is cleaned from the previous mixture. Pour the almond milk back in and add 1/3 cup of unsweetened cacao, 1tablespoon of vanilla and a pinch of salt. Blend everything together until the mixture is smooth and creamy, which is about 1 minute and you have your almond milk ready. Chocolate almond milk can be stored in fridge for up to 1 week. Shake before drinking.

Step 2 – make creamy coffee ice cubes: Put 1 cup of coconut milk, 3 tablespoons of malted milk powder, 1 tablespoon of vanilla into blender. Blend until the mixture has smooth texture. Pour mixture among half of ice cube molds and pour black coffee over the coconut milk. Freeze for at least 4 hours up to 1 night.

Serve the creamy coffee ice cubes with chocolate almond milk and the drink is completed. Almond chocolate milk with rich nutty flavor from almond will perfectly go with the creamy coffee ice cubes as the ices add coolness and coconut coffee flavor to the drink. Since most of ingredients is rich in content like almond or coconut, we recommend using when the drink is cool to prevent greasy taste later.

Maple Cinnamon Latte

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup of Milk
  • ½ cup of Hot Coffee
  • 1 – 1 ½ tablespoon of Maple Syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon of Cinnamon (1 more teaspoon for garnish)
  • Cinnamon Stick (for garnish)

Making:

Step 1: Pour ¾ cup of milk into a medium-sized mason jar with the lid on and shake for 10-15 second or until the milk starts to have foam on the top. After that, remove the lid and put the mason in the microwave for about 45 seconds. You know your milk is ready when it gets hot and foamy. Don’t let your milk bubble from microwave for too long.

Step 2: Pour hot coffee into a mug, add 1 to 1 ½ tablespoon of maple syrup (depending on your sweetness preference) and ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon. Stir the drink until all ingredients are combined. Top the mug with shaked milk. Use a spoon to get the milk foam onto the top of the mug. Then finish by sprinkling cinnamon powder and serve with a cinnamon stick for garnish.

Caramel Coffee Milkshake

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup of Brewed Coffee
  • 3 cups of Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 tablespoon of Caramel Ice Cream Syrup
  • Whipped Cream (for garnish – optional)

Making: Add 1 ½ cup of coffee, 3 cups of vanilla ice cream, 1 tablespoon of caramel ice cream syrup into a blender. Blend until all the ingredients are well combined and have smooth texture. You can add more vanilla ice cream to make the mixture thicker or until it reaches your desired thickness. Then, pour the drink into glasses, top with whipped cream and caramel sauce.

The drink will perfect for hot days as we get chill from the vanilla ice cream coolness. The recipe is supper easy and fast, ingredients are also simple and easy to find. You can adjust the amount of coffee and make it for your children and family to enjoy together.

Caramel Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Caramel Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of Pumpkin Puree
  • 2 tablespoons of Maple Syrup
  • ½ teaspoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 ½ cup of Milk
  • 1 tablespoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ cup of Strong-brewed Warm Coffee
  • Whipped Cream and Caramel Sauce (for topping)

Making:

Step 1: Take out a medium saucepan and put in it 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Simmer the ingredients over medium-high heat. Slowly whisk in 1 ½ cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. Bring the mixture to a low simmer and then remove it from the heat.

Step 2: Pour the simmered milk mixture into a blender or food processor. Pulse until the mixture gets foamy and frothy.

Step 3: Pour coffee to half of the cups. Then add the pumpkin milk mixture on the other half of the cups. Top with whipped milk and caramel sauce.

The drink should be served when it is hot. The pumpkin flavor will give a new and rich flavor when combining with coffee. Since the drink is served hot, winter or chilling days are perfect for such a drink. Also, with the pumpkin nutrition, caramel pumpkin spice lattes will give you energy for your daily activities.

Caramel Marshmallow Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Hot Coffee
  • ½ cup of Caramel Marshmallow Creamer
  • 1 tablespoon of Caramel Sauce
  • Whipped Cream
  • Marshmallow

Making: Take out a medium saucepan, add 1 cup of hot coffee, ½ cup of caramel marshmallow creamer, 1 tablespoon of caramel sauce. Heat all the ingredients until they get hot and are well combined. After that, pour the drink into glasses, top with whipped cream and toasted marshmallow.

This recipe is also a hot drink which would be suitable for cold weather. The marshmallow flavor with toasted marshmallow will attract sweet-tooth. You can make this drink within 5 to 7 minutes. Due to this advantage, you can have such as delicious drink in a mean time with minimum effort.
